Just had the Hosmer 2008 Pinot Noir and it was very good. Pretty light in color and body but very nice fruit that was just very tasty. It reminded me of a cru Beaujolais. Very interesting to hear about Aaron's feelings about Lemberger, in Germany I remember having a delicious wine called Trollinger mit Lemberger. Will be interested to see Lemberger's progression in the Finger Lakes.

Mark - I think that's a pretty apt comparison for quite a few solid, light Finger Lakes pinots. Regarding lemberger, it's fascinating to see the different interpretations. You have Roisen's, and then you have the heavy, oak-saturated style at Heron Hill and created by former winemaker Thomas Laszlo (who told me that he decided to age his lemberger for 18 months in mostly-new oak barrels because it was a big, dark wine that deserved the "cabernet treatment"). What a contrast! And then there are some in between; for example the '07 Keuka Spring, or the Rooster Hill lemberger. Fox Run makes a routinely solid lemberger, and Anthony Road gets gorgeous fruit to blend with their cab franc (which Roisen doesn't like!). So there's hardly a monolithic approach, which is cool.
